Herding cats and hoarding time

Sometimes in the midst of production I wonder whether I am on a television set or inside a circus tent.  My cast members are acting like animals, my producers are being clowns, and I’ve got an audience full of execs at video village just clambering for the show to finally start. To the untrained eye, this seems like chaos, but to a seasoned professional – this is home. As production executives, we are the ultimate ringleaders, pulling together the disparate departments and creating an environment where all work in one cohesive unit to pull off one amazing feat after another. We are the magicians who bend time to accomplish ambitious schedules and stretch dollars to outwit even the most stripped budget’s constraints. It takes a tremendous amount of diplomacy, patience, and above all creativity to ensure that, against all odds, the show does indeed go on.
